Expeditions

iAtlantic’s work programme was underpinned by 75 research expeditions that explored all corners of the Atlantic over the project’s 5 years.

Using the latest technology to gather the vital data needed to identify the ecosystems most at risk from environmental change in the deep and open ocean, scientists of all disciplines from across the partnership were involved in these seagoing missions. Capacity building – both technological and human – is a key component of every cruise, and the sharing of equipment, personnel and expertise is essential in maximising our ability to make the necessary observations and measurements.
